Tibi Tibi Neuspiel began as a self-taught painter while living as a teenager in Prague. After moving to Toronto and working as assistant to sculptor Richard Stipl, Neuspiel began taking an interest in conceptual installation mediums. Drawing parallels between art and comedy, Neuspiel presents recognizable historical figures in unusual contexts, allowing the viewer to identify easily and examine further. Playing off of his fascination with timelessness, his pieces are archival in concept and form. Tibi has exhibited in group shows at Artists Space in New York City, The Ottawa Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and Art Basel.
