Kara Uzelman is a mixed-media artist with an educational background based in Urban Planning and Fine Arts. Since graduating from Emily Carr University in 2004, Uzelman’s process-based sculptures and installations have been shown internationally in both group and solo exhibitions. She has attended residencies at The Klondike Institute of Art (Dawson City, Canada), Triangle (Marseille, France) and completed a mentorship in Archaeology (Simon Fraser University, Vancouver). Most recently she has exhibited at The Power Plant (Toronto, Canada), Contemporary Art Gallery (Vancouver), Sommer & Kohl (Berlin, Germany) and Liste Art Fair (Basel, Switzerland). In addition to her solo practice, she has collaborated on numerous projects, most notably with the Vancouver based collective Norma.
