Hannah Jickling has been developing her practice as snow shoveler, hair dresser, tropical stylist, pumpkin boater and amateur potion maker. She works individually and collaboratively with a soft spot for free and found materials. In past years she has lived and worked in Halifax, Glasgow, Toronto and the Yukon. She now lives in Oregon where she is doing her MFA in Social Practice at Portland State University. Recent projects include a series of queer, land-based surveys at Mildredʼs Lane in Pennsylvania, an Orienteering event at the Portland Art Museum and the orchestration of a cross-continental cocktail (between Portland and Inverness, Nova Scotia). Upcoming exhibitions will involve paper maché and/or pancakes at Smack Mellon in Brooklyn, NY and Apexart in NY, NY.
